Oh Prom!
A night to have fun and shine! Its not just a dance but one of the biggest milestones for a high school junior and senior. Its no surprise we do it real big here in North Carolina. The south loves to dress to impress! The vibrant colors, the fancy cars, and everyone looking magazine worthy. There's so much thought and preparation that goes into the big event. Its also smack in-between sports events, showcases, college tours and so much more.

Driving from boutique to boutique to find the perfect dress, shoes, and tux.
Scheduling alterations.
Coordinating colors with a prom date.
Making dinner reservations.
Making appointments for personal care such as hair, nails or facials.
Ordering flowers.
Deciding on transportation to and from the event.
Planning fun after-prom events.
and of course, documenting friendships and the spirit youth transitioning into young adulthood. I absolutely love capturing the excitement and glamour of prom!
WRAL Azalea Gardens: Raleigh NC
The Azalea Gardens is one of several of most sought after locations for prom goers to be photographed in. The vibrant colors of peak blooms, water fountains, winding brick walkways, and staircases. Its no wonder why people love to visit this amazing backdrop for any portrait session.
Tips to beat the crowd.
The gardens to get busier after 5-5:30pm. Arriving earlier the better! Don't worry, I will be able to capture you in amazing light. I've also noticed the gardens are over crowded later in prom season. The same goes for other favorite prom locations like The JC Arboretum and The Raleigh Rose Garden. This is due to more more schools and hosting on these dates and spring weddings.
If your prom date falls on the same date as several schools as yours and you are wanting professional photography without overcrowding killing the vibe. Go solo or grab a group of friends to share a full session with a photographer. Use a private or lesser known location. There are many other beautiful spots to choose from in and near the city of Raleigh.
