Dance Photography in Raleigh, NC
Planning Your Dance Session
Dance sessions are designed to highlight both movement and personality.
Some dancers arrive with choreography or poses they’d like to explore, while others prefer guidance throughout the session. Either way, we’ll talk through wardrobe, movement ideas, and locations that complement your style.
Sessions are collaborative, allowing dancers the space to perform naturally while still creating polished portraits.
Collections & Investment

Dance Sessions
Collections begin at $350. Dancers often choose multiple looks — classic and contemporary, costumed and editorial, whatever tells the full story. A private proofing gallery is included where you'll select your images.
Additional digital images may be added during the proofing process.
Finished artwork is ordered separately from your final gallery.

Finished Artwork
Digital files are convenient. But they don’t live anywhere unless you make them. Prints, albums, and wall pieces turn this milestone into something you can actually see every day.
I offer professional deep matte prints, custom albums, and wall artwork designed to last. Luxe collections include artwork, and everything is available à la carte if you’d rather decide after you see your gallery.
Reserve Your Date
Dance sessions book year round and timing is flexible. If you're preparing for college auditions though, don't wait — materials are usually due in the fall and late summer fills up fast.
Reach out whenever you're ready and we'll find a date that works.
FAQ
Where are you located, and do you travel?
I’m based in Raleigh, North Carolina and photograph seniors and graduates throughout the Triangle and surrounding areas.
Travel beyond 50 miles from Raleigh is welcome and subject to a mileage fee.
What’s included in a dance session?
Each collection includes pre-session planning support, the session itself, professional editing, and a private proofing gallery where you’ll select your images.
During the proofing stage, you’ll select your included images and may add additional digital files if desired. Once your final gallery is delivered, you’ll have access to order prints, albums, and wall artwork.
Where do sessions take place?
Sessions take place throughout Raleigh and the Triangle, including downtown Raleigh, gardens, open fields, college campuses, and travel locations. After booking, you’ll receive access to my curated location guide
Location is never random. We’ll choose something that fits your vision. Whether that’s clean and minimal, classic and timeless, or more stylized. If you want strong guidance, I’ll lead. If you have ideas, we’ll build around them.
What should I wear for my dance session?
The best dance session outfits have one thing in common — they move. Think about how each piece works with your body. Fabric that flows creates dimension on its own. Structured pieces give you something to interact with. Fitted base layers make quick changes between looks seamless.
Classic and timeless: a leotard, clean lines, well-worn pointe shoes. Contemporary and current: textured tops, tailored stretch pants, interesting silhouettes. Flowy and dimensional: a long dress, a layered skirt, anything that catches air when you turn.
Barefoot is beautiful. Pointe shoes are powerful. You don't have to choose one over the other. Most dancers show up and nail it on their own.
Can we take photos on train tracks?
No. Train tracks are private property and extremely dangerous. For safety and legal reasons, I do not photograph on or near active railroad tracks.
If you’re drawn to an industrial look, I’m happy to suggest safer alternatives that achieve a similar aesthetic.
What happens if I need to reschedule, or if the weather doesn’t cooperate?
I try not to reschedule too early. Weather can change quickly, and some of the best sessions have happened on days that started out gloomy. If conditions look truly unfavorable, I’ll reach out at least three hours before your session to discuss options.
I understand life happens! If you need to reschedule, I’m happy to accommodate once with no fee if you give at least 48 hours’ notice. Additional reschedules will require a fee. Please note that if you arrive late, your session will still end at the scheduled time, and no refunds are available for missed sessions.
When will we receive images?
Proofing galleries are delivered approximately one week after your session. Final edited images are delivered within about three weeks after selections are made. Turnaround times may be slightly extended during peak graduation season.
